John D. Culver, Jr. is a Senior Associate in the San Diego Office of Lynberg & Watkins. He has vast experience in Insurance Defense work starting his career in the insurance industry (2 major carriers) first in claims as an automobile appraiser, claim representative (1st & 3rd party claims, Personal & Commercial lines) and management – managing suits against the company. Thereafter he was in the Corporate Legal department as staff counsel where he transitioned to private practice first with a boutique firm and then his own practice.
As a civil litigation trial attorney, Mr. Culver, handled complex cases including: wrongful death; serious/catastrophic injuries; environmental claims (Mold); housing discrimination; habitability; infectious disease, unfair business practice; HOA disputes; assault and, landslide/slope failure matters, Insurance Bad Faith – as well as automobile accidents and premises liability matters.
Mr. Culver has 30 jury trials and 6 bench trials. He was recognized as the trial lawyer of the year for the San Diego Branch Legal Office of Farmers, completing the most and longest trials in one year (2013) and receiving an award for outstanding trial results with Farmers’ Commercial / Specialty Claims (2011).
