Paralegal – Orange, CA

Our dynamic and growing firm is seeking an experienced and certified Paralegal to join our team in Orange, CA.  The ideal candidate will assist on construction defense matters along with a wide variety of construction disputes from pre-litigation through trial and appeals. Trial preparation experience is beneficial.  The cases include both private and public works projects on behalf of contractors, subcontractors, design professionals (architects and engineers), construction managers, product manufacturers and suppliers, owners and sureties.  The right candidate will be a self-starter with excellent attention to detail, strong writing and analytical skills, and be able to work efficiently and independently.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation matters.

Location: Orange, California
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing and tracking subpoenas
• Reviewing and summarizing medical records, employment records, and third-party vendor records
• Propounding and responding to written discovery
• Conducting witness interviews
• Locating and coordinating expert witnesses
• Trial preparation
• Billable hour requirement of 1560 per year / 130 hours per month

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of paralegal experience in construction defense litigation
• Strong knowledge of construction law, contracts, and dispute resolution processes
• Trial preparation experience is beneficial
• Excellent writing, analytical, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
• Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software
• Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience required
