The firm represented major insurance carriers in the landmark coordinated asbestos insurance coverage litigation tried in the Superior Court for the County of San Francisco. The firm also represents excess and surplus lines carriers and reinsurers in the monitoring and handling of major coverage litigation with emphasis in the areas of toxic exposure and large-scale disasters. This practice is in addition to defending the insureds of various carriers in all forms of litigation in which insurance coverage is involved. The firm is also relied upon to defend insurance companies against claims of breach of insurer’s duties in both the first and third party context, and to defend independent insurance administrators in first-party cases involving life, health and disability claims.
